Sherry Crawford (White Bear Standing) is an emerging artist currently living in the Peterborough area. Sherry enjoys painting, drawing and digital creation and has been active in the community for many years. Sherry uses acrylic, oil, pencil, ink and digital mediums to create indigenous themed pieces, abstract, realism and much more.
Sherry Crawford is an emerging artist who is still discovering her Art Style, and the Art world. She has Algonquin roots, and has been 'picking up the pieces' of her Anishnaabe Culture for the past 20 years or so. She embraces the Spiritual / Traditional teachings and has been honoured and humbled to experience several Sacred Ceremonies. Many years ago, Sherry was given her "indian name", shared with the Elders during a Shaking Tent Ceremony. She is proud to connect to this special ceremonial name, White Bear Standing. She brings the bear into many of her pieces.
She believes it is important to follow the 7 grandfather teachings and 'walk her talk'...she believes the 'rest' will fall into place as it is supposed to.
