Public art is an opportunity for showcase Indigenous art and culture. The City of Ottawa Public Art Program encourages Indigenous artists to participate. The City has confirmed $11 million as part of the public art program. Public art reflects a diversity of artistic expressions: sculpture, traditional arts, visual, carving, photography, beadwork, video, etc.
The City of Ottawa will be announcing its plans for future public art projects. The Stage 2 LRT program envisions an artist collaborative to work together around a theme or expression. This means Indigenous artists could form their own teams or work with other artists. The venues include outdoor and indoor art.
